PracticalPickr compares two products by what the maker promises to cover and what that works out to per year. This page explains how the figures on the site are produced and checked.
Where the figures come from
- Warranty terms: taken from the manufacturer’s own warranty document or support page, and linked in the Sources section of each article. If a term cannot be found in a manufacturer document, the article says so instead of guessing.
- Prices: the price found when the article was written or last updated. Retail prices change often, so check the retailer before you buy. Cost per year is that price divided by the warranty length in years.
- Owner reports: summarized from named forums, reviews and consumer sources and credited to them. They are reports from owners, not tests by PracticalPickr.
How articles are checked
Articles are drafted with AI assistance, then checked by automated tests before they publish. The tests confirm that every headline number appears in the article’s own calculation, that each warranty term matches the source text, and that the published page reads back correctly. PracticalPickr does not test products in person.
Corrections
